A year on the land

Mike Bayly has travelled across England this year photographing venues that capture the beauty and spirit of amateur football.

From snow-capped mountains in the Lake District, to Edwardian pavilions on a summer’s evening, our national game offers much-needed moments of joy.

A green and pleasant land with chalk lines, shouts of “man on” and far too long spent looking for balls in hedges.
